As soon as he told a lie, Goober knew he had done the wrong thing. He felt a bad feeling that he had not known before. He was not happy with himself. He wished he hadn’t said that he didn’t know who was calling him.

Goober knew that his fellow peanuts would not like what he had done. After all, it was good to be a peanut too. He liked the other peanuts. “Would my peanut pals think I don’t like them? What am I to do?” he asked himself.

As Goober squirmed in his shell, it only took a moment for him to know what he had to do.
